(Sports Network) - The Detroit Pistons try to stay on fire this month when they host the Indiana Pacers tonight in the opener of a home-and-home series at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Detroit will then travel to Conseco Fieldhouse in Indiana on Saturday night. Detroit has won six straight and improved to 12-2 in December with Wednesday's 101-83 victory over the New Jersey Nets at the Izod Center. Richard Hamilton scored 22 points and Chauncey Billups tallied 17 points and dished out 10 assists for Detroit, which has won six straight versus New Jersey. Antonio McDyess chipped in 15 points and nine rebounds in the win. Detroit is back at home where it has won five straight and owns an 11-2 record this season. The Pacers have lost two of their last three games and will close out a brief two-game road trip on Friday in Motown. In Wednesday's 107-95 setback to the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena, Jamaal Tinsley had 16 points and 12 assists for the Pacers, who fell to 8-7 as the guest this season. Troy Murphy ended with 19 points, while Jermaine O'Neal registered 16 and 10 rebounds for Indiana. On the injury front for the Pacers, guard Marquis Daniels is doubtful for Friday's game against Detroit with a respiratory infection. Detroit and Indiana split four meetings last season, but the Pistons have won two straight and five of the last seven matchups in the series.
